I recently purchased the new Shockwafe 9.2.4 eARC and after hours of tweaking settings I finally found what sounds best to me and thought I would share since there isn’t a ton of info out there about other users settings/experiences. The biggest issue I had was trying to optimize vocal clarity and prevent any bass bleed/muffled vocals into the center channel. Based on the predefined room sizes provided in the manual, my listening area is a “small” room. I tried about every possible setting/speaker placement while using the room size “small” and SSE 1 settings, but could never get the sound to feel quite right. I finally decided to try changing the room size/SSE settings and WOW what a difference it made. I am currently using room size “medium” and SSE 2 (despite being in a small room), along with the Movie EQ preset with the following settings:
CR: 6
TR: 5
SS: 8
SB: 8
Bass: 6
This is for Dolby Atmos movies/shows. I have yet to fully test this on other 5.1 native content or music, but that is my next project.
